Bonkers the Clown makes it a second great event!
Retford Big Market Days - August 2022
Bonkers the Clown visited Retford Big Market Day on Saturday 20th August, and amazed families on Market Square and Carolgate with brilliant displays of juggling, balloon-modelling and unicycling. The Vegetable Critters workshop also showed children and adults how to make amazing ‘animals’ from everyday vegetables.
The Farmers Market provided a variety of local produce, including jams, meat, honey, cheese, pies, bread, plants, and flour. The Craft Market was held in the Retford Town Hall Buttermarket, and had traders selling a variety of gifts, including jewellery, greetings cards, books, and bags.
Retford Big Market Days happen on the third Saturday of every month, when Retford adds its famous Farmers Market and Craft Market to its traditional Saturday Market. From July to December 2022, every Retford Big Market Day will be supported by great street entertainment. On Saturday September 17th, Professor Paul Temple’s Punch & Judy Show will entertain young and old, and there will be a café in the Craft market. Even more exciting entertainment is being planned for October, November, and December - keep visiting Retford Town Centre to see what is going on!
Retford Big Market Days are arranged by Retford Business Forum, in partnership with North Notts BID and Bassetlaw District Council.
Traditional markets are held every Thursday and Saturday, with something for everybody - from household goods, clothing and flowers to fresh fruit and veg, and quality fish and meats. On Fridays, bargain hunters can find great deals at the Antique and Collectors Market.
Retford’s Traditional and Craft Markets are open to the public from 8.30 am until 2.30 pm, with Farmers Markets open until 1.00pm.
Please support your markets – keep Retford Town Centre alive!
